Our Philosophy of Education
CURRICULUM
We use A.B.E.K.A. curriculum in Pre-K, Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. In grades 3-12, we use A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) and S.O.S. Switched-On Schoolhouse, (Alpha Omega Curriculum.)
PHILOSOPHY & DIRECTION OF OUR SYSTEM
Our educational philosophy begins with the belief that reading is the key to knowledge. In order to insure proper and effective reading skills, our students are taught to read phonetically, beginning in Pre-K and Kindergarten.
FOUR CORE BELIEFS WE PRACTICE AND TEACH
- We teach students to believe in, and love, the God of the Bible, through the person of the His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- We teach students to honor, love, and obey their parents.
- We teach students to love America, our Flag, and to practice good citizenship.
- We teach students to master the basic concepts of their education.
PRE-K, KINDERGARTEN, FIRST AND SECOND GRADES
This is our learning-to-read program at Creekside. Once children have mastered phonics they have the reading skills that will equip them for a lifetime of learning. This is Level 1
3rd – 12th GRADES
Once a student has mastered Level 1, they are promoted into our individualized learning centers. Currently we have three. The Elementary Learning center, comprised of 3rd – 5th Grades, and two upper- level Learning Centers comprised of 6th-12th Grades.
The second part of our educational philosophy begins when a student enters a learning center. This is the reading-to-learn program. Students are tested to find out their individual performance level in each subject. Their curriculum is then individually prescribed and assigned. At this point students are taught to assume responsibility for their own success. Students are taught that their success is based upon achievement and mastery in their work, not time spent in class.
